Thought the following video was a perfect example of research. It clearly demonstrates what can be achieved by a dedicated researcher. Clearly any ordinary person would have overlooked entirely the researchers end product.The entire process applied here fascinates me. Although in a different field the same type of research is being applied in a different form to our metal detecting finds. Once our metal detecting finds are claimed eventually they will become part of one form or other of research.The materials they are made of,their form,their findspots,their design and much more will all be analysed.
