Dunning--Forteviot Project
« on: April 24, 2015, 01:07:59 PM »
The most important archaeological project in Scotland takes place annually in the Forteviot/Dunning area Perthshire. This year it happens in the months of June/July. Those interested should click on "SUMMER EVENTS" and read whats on offer. If  DS members want to become a "VOLUNTEER" they should contact  Ms Cathy MacIver  AOC Archaeology by completing the form provided. Most volunteers will be archaeological students from both Glasgow & Aberdeen Universities. These are exceptional events to participate in as this area is where Scotland as a nation was born.

Those interested in volunteering for the "SERF PROJECT"  should contact Dr Tessa Poller  E-mail    tessa.pollar@glasgow.ac.uk  .  The "BLOG" for any excavation taking place is uploaded to this webpage. You can watch all the updates as the excavations unfold. Features discovered along with finds recovered. It can become an experience of a lifetime for those either volunteering or just looking at the additions made to a "BLOG" as each excavation unfolds.

Just a reminder to DS Members that the most important excavation is about to commence shortly and you could get involved if you so wish.

The above attachment provides all the information required to become a volunteer in one or other form at this annual event. I loved the excavating and learn't an awful lot from the professionals in charge. This is a chance second to none and worthy of all DS members consideration. It's very simple to become a volunteer just follow the instructions.
