Quiet fields on way of old stuff. But Elenor managed this harness pendant and whilst emptying out pockets I cleaned this up and it looks to be a broken Roman bronze.

Was a hard dig today but managed to find a couple of things - Think the button might have been German, any thoughts?

Seems that there were German Prisoners of war at RAF Findo Gask and they were made to work the land - think someone else found more German items so all makes sense

On the Pow theme, thought I'd found an animal tag fragment, but it looks like it's a German dog-tag; It's similar to examples on the Internet. It says, possibly,

   7
  S.BATL.191

The 7 is from the soldier's service number. At a guess, the S might be from ERS = Ersatz (=Replacement), so it might be Infanterie or Grenadier Ersatz Bataillon 191. I'm not an militaria expert, so any info... Cheers!

Daughter and I found a British Army button which are very common... but when you shake this one it jingles like a bell.

A small part of me wants to crack it open and find something exciting inside.

The 99% sensible side of me knows it's probably just the broken loop that fastened the button to the uniform.  hehehe.
If at first you don't succeed... deny you were ever trying!
