Fraudy finds a strange one ?
« on: May 12, 2016, 08:41:28 PM »
Got an email from Fraudy  this morning who has been out detecting one of his sites and attached photo's of his latest finds one of which is a lead artefact that may or may not have a Scottish Crusader - Templar connection - its an artefact made to represent a cross with like a thistle end to it - Fraudy  told me over the phone today each of the ball tips has a stamped cross on it like a Templar cross he says?

What the object is  - is a mystery is it a horse harness pendant decoration or could it have come from a helmet for decoration purpose - its one I no doubt Derek will have an answer for and probably I am a million miles away with my thoughts?

I have seen something like the cross object before it might even be a Pilgrim Badge ?

The other amazing object is a cracker of an ancient coloured bead which could be as old as Bronze Age

The coin is just a hammered Irish Penny

...great finds Fraudy  mate. Edward I Irish penny, Dublin mint, a glass bead that is most probably Roman / Saxon / Viking and the wee cross which could be a mount for an ecclesiastical object or perhaps a horse harness. Well done again mate!
