Advice please on understanding EuroAce modified settings?
« on: October 04, 2016, 11:30:14 PM »
Hi folks,  so playing about with the EuroAce it has various settings, all metal, relics, coin, jewellery and custom that sort of thing.
The descrimination bar goes along the top in notches as people familiar with garrets will know.
I would like to know to be sure about the settings. Imagine I set the descrimination the exact same on all modes, would each mode still be different, is coins more readily picked out on coin setting, gold more readily picked out on jewellery etc,
I have the feeling that the modes will still specialise more in their settings even though they have the same discrimination set up, would I be right in thinking this?
I'm tending to dig targets based on sounds as the Euro can seem funny at times, it's probably more the user than machine. I'm still trying to fully understand all the sounds, modes and targets but I'm getting better.
I know this may seem like a daft question but I need to ask it to put my mind at ease.

Cheers
Scott

Go out with the machine .. listen to the sounds.. in time you will get to know what they mean... never had a garret so I'm no expert.

Hi, i have a Euroace and tend to leave it in All Metal but with the first 4 iron notches turned off. I havent really experimented with the other modes but was led to believe that All Metal is slightly more sensitive and therefore would search deeper. Dont know if it true but thats what i use. HH

Aye, I've been doing a fair bit of testing when I've been out. I know the general ranges and sounds, just need to ken more about the individual settings if they are calibrated differently from programme

I'm the same as Eddy here mate where I've never used a Garrett, I'm of the "If it sounds good dig it" school of thinking.  :)
