Detecting yesterday and found the following item, possibly a handle to a piece of cutlery. There is a crown insignia on it and what I can make out  the letters 'PUR.....' . I am interested in any suggestions to what this might be, PURVEYOR maybe, and can it be approximately dated? Looks like copper or bronze metal.

Agree, just interested if there was some info on the logo on it. Tried various Google terms and nothing and also in Google images!

I've got a couple of different spoon handles like that as well, it's funny how they always seem to break at the same point. I've had difficulty in getting an ID on them as well.
