Does anyone know what this little lead bird would have been used for?  Also does it have any age?

Does it look as though it has been mounted onto something. Could be off a pigeon racing trophy/award. Just a guess Howard. It's a nice wee find. :)

Yes David it does look like it has been mounted onto something so your suggestion may well be correct.

I found something similar on Sunday only the tail is missing,I'll get a pic of it up soon and the coins. Still having problems posting them. Anyway great wee find, well done.
