Three more for suggestions
« on: March 09, 2017, 10:10:46 PM »
Some finds I got yesterday but baffled as to what they are. Can anyone help please?

This was a surface find. Believe it is silver. It is very thin. Do not know if it later 'hammy' or milled coin. There is no text and as you can see from one side no detail. Head on obverse is facing right but little detail. Appearance looks 17th century but Roman finds have turned up in this field. 'Bullhead'? Nero being hopeful?

This puzzled me. Figures are etched out of the metal, not raised. Half circle at top looks like it was able to flip possibly as a seal in a form of a ring. Head on one side looks early medieval and the Lion Rampart tells me it was after 1314 if it relates to Scotland.

Looks like a furniture finial but trhought it could be a seal matrix

Anybody able to supply rough dates on the 3 pieces would be welcomed?
