met an elderly gent who has written book on 71 st Fraser Highland Regt
can anyone help him out with a tunic button with 71 on it ? he says the 1 looks reversed

...there are a few on google, but appear quite scarce. He could always try and contact the finder of the ones on the link below. The best bet would be the one on TreasureNet.com in America, albeit it was found a few years ago. He could join the forum or contact the admin and ask if he could be put in touch with the finder and ask him if he could use the image - separate link below?

thank you for all that information. I will pass it on. He thought that at one time the regiment  may have 'camped' in Perth - on the Inches so he was clutching at straws thinking he would find a button locally
