Congratulations on your lovely silver find there Bob. Great to see Scottish coins recovered and saved from the plough.

When detecting always expect the unexpected, if in doubt, prepare to be disappointed, then dig it.If you don't know what a coin is chances are it's not that common and could be worth more than you think.Minelab X-Terra 70,Explorer XS.CSCOPE Newforce R1 ,X-Terra 30,Tesoro Hawkeye.Ace250,TrackerIV,GM4

Beautiful coin Uncle Bob. I’d feel the same, just a little clean, couldn’t resist. You’ve been at it long enough to know how to do it, go on, you know you want to.

Don't attempt to clean the coin.
QUOTE FROM ONE OF MY BLOGS
"I don't know where I first read it, but there's a great piece of advice in a saying that tells us that cleaning coins is like marriage and shouldn't be embarked on lightly. Or have I just made that up? Translated, that simply means DON'T DO IT! It's far better to have a dirty coin with it's original patina, than have one that is irretrievably damaged."

Aye - you are right. It's the age old battle between the brain and the heart! It's still as found. The brain won!
Cheers.

Uncle bob I was given a tip for silver coins on cleaning and that was to use a rubber at the end of a pencil I have tried this with an ordinanary sixpence and worked really well try it on another silver coin and you can decide from there if you wish to use that method.
