Beach Detecting - My first ROMAN silver off the beach
« on: August 16, 2017, 07:09:25 PM »
My first Roman coin off the beach yesterday . Hard days digging in the rocks and clay but worth the pain Im suffering today   lol  Identified on Faceache as

Antoninus Pius with either Aequitas or Felicitas reverse. If the reverse legend is COS DES II it's minted in 138AD ...

Open to confirmation from the experienced turf detectorists in this Forum or other thoughts , thanks

Hi Alan and thanks Mark

Been told via F/B that its a (Antoninus Pius with either Aequitas or Felicitas reverse. If the reverse legend is COS DES II it's minted in 138AD )

Good to meet up at Greenan shore Alan , its only good for bullet digging , just an area to get out and swing the detector until we get a  fortuitous tide over the winter

months .

Yep , its mainly Viccy stuff on the local beaches but plenty of silver ones and lots of gold bling !!!

Have recently ventured into the darkside of detecting and doing some local turf stuff ...lol     ;D  ... and now intending to attend some digs for easier digging and

hopefully some older finds ....hoping to scratch a "hammy" off my bucket list

Maybes catch up on a dig this year bud
