Dig St Andrews 23rd Sept

Here is my stuff from yesterday, I think the fob is possibly an early Pocket Compass. I prized the back off and everything inside was black crumbs except there is a metal spring in the back casing. I have yet to manage to get the glass and front separated to clean it.

Good collection! Lovely wee pencil topper. Top right, is that the end of a toy cannon? The compass thingy might be a fob-watch-style slide rule... Well dug!

I think it is a pigeon ring, quite interesting it says 1939 on it along with some other characters but am thinking probably just part of a code for a pigeon. Almost thought it was silver for a minute.
The bit top right could be the end off an old toy canon or even a chess piece, not sure.
Nice to get a turner where I can see both the thistle and CR. The G vi ship halfpenny was not in great shape, the other coin is the usual featureless burned mess.
