D.S. 7th April 2019.
« on: April 08, 2019, 10:59:16 AM »
Anyone got an idea of what this coin could be?  I can see the year is 1693 and it appears to be copper (or a variant).  I was wondering if it may be foreign but any suggestions welcome.  Diameter is 24mm.  Found yesterday at DS dig.

Looks like a milled William & Mary Halfpenny.

Thanks TimChilli, yes that looks like it.  Irish William and Mary halfpenny.  The obverse is too poor to make out but the reverse is quite good.
