This dig will see us return to fields close to a kirk that have produced numerous silver hammered coins over the last few years. A dig was held on two of them over 5 years ago where we had hammered silver and Bronze age.

Please arrive no earlier than 0900 for a 0930 start. Remember the clocks go back this evening.  We are detecting stubble at the village of maryton on the A934 just south of Montrose basin. The flag will be located on either the farm entranceapprox 30 yards from the Kirk signposted maryton farm or on a field entrance approx 200 yards further along the main  road towards Montrose depending on field conditions for parking in the morning.  Any issues give me a call. I will not be arriving earlier than 0900 so please try not to be early.   Cheers. Jim

is that where i got the bronze age axe thats in montrose museum didnt know what it was until stevie paterson said it was an axe if i had been closer to the edge of the field when i found it i would have tossed it in the bushes
