Small Brooch?

First day out with the 800, first find 5 mins later.. Looks like a small brooch or similar about  0.5 inch

Great find. I would agree on the buckle ID. Squared off base to hold the leather strap, grooved at the top to seat the buckle prong. But i’d like to guess that it’s older... Roman even. Going by the image there.
Cracking find all the same. I’ll try an find an example... HH
