St Andrews finds 1st December 2019
« on: December 03, 2019, 04:34:27 PM »

Found this nice St Andrews church communion token, from my research it's quite an early one circa 1560- 1700

Anyone else find anything interesting??

Thanks guys, it was fun researching it, I like finds that have a bit of local history! This site had a lot of useful information on it http://www.mernick.org.uk/lnc/DPowell/CommunionTokens.htm

were you in the new settings phil or back to your usual .got myself a church token myself will bring it the next time as i am useless on the computer.

I think it was the new settings at that point John. Is your token similar?

I also found this on the St. Andrews dig. I've searched the net and can't really find anything like it. It seems to have a bit of age and too dainty for farm machinery imo! 5 pence for scale.

Any ideas??
