Simplex depth issue
« on: February 02, 2020, 05:35:43 PM »
Hi, is there anyone in Edinburgh with a simplex plus that would be willing to help me out by doing a depth against mine as I don't think mine is as deep as it should be.
If you can help me out it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

I don’t have a Simplex+ but I do know there was some kind of issue with the 1st run of either coils or software, I’m sure it was the coil. That was why they were unavailable before Xmas. I’m pretty positive they were exchanging old coils for new free.
I’m not sure if this is any help but it might be!

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, I do have the newer coil but it seems to lack the depth compared to the depth tests I've seen on YouTube.

Other than your depth issue would you recommend it? I’ve been thinking about buying one since November.

Hi, for the price I don't think you can go wrong and overall I'm really happy with it.
If your not too far away your welcome to come and try it out.
Previously I had the ace 300i which was good enough but the simplex ticks more boxes ( ground balance, waterproof, wireless etc) .
The only thing is that l found that the sounds were telling you more than the VDI so it takes a bit more time to learn what it's saying. I also think it's a more enjoyable machine to use than the Garretts (had two or three).

Hopefully  I’ll see you at a dig.
I’m using a Fisher F22 and I’ve just fitted a Magic coil. I like it but no ground balance. It still finds stuff all the same.

As long as your finding stuff and you're happy with your machine you cant go wrong. The magic coil should make a difference.
