Not a happy bunny
« on: June 08, 2020, 07:31:56 PM »
I am not a happy bunny!!! After shielding indoors for over 13 weeks (I started a week before the shielding order was announced) I now find I'm expected to carry on until the end of July by order of Nicola Sturgeon!!!! I have lived with a compromised immune system for the last 5 years and have avoided any colds or infections in all that time by being careful so the way I feel at the moment is to say stuff it and start going out for walks. Rant over!!! >:(

I am the same John, a bit disheartening, But better be safe than sorry

Apart from Nicola's advice I got a Gov letter saying if my prognosis is six months or less to live then I can make my own decisions to go out

Hang in there Buddy soon be in the field or in my case a beach as I have no permissions in Fife

The decision you have to make is:

Do you want to do what you want or do you want to do what is right?

My wife works in a hospital helping post-covid 19 patients to recuperate.

Over to you!

Do not put yourself or others at risk

Dont see the problem if you go out for a walk John as long as you steer well clear of other people and clean your hands if you have to touch gates etc

Just what I was thinking Jim. There is a path running alongside a golf course where I live so I can easily avoid getting too close to anyone who comes the other way. I got called up to the Royal hospital in Edinburgh a few weeks ago for an MRI scan and was shocked by the amount of staff with no protection as I entered and despite me keeping into the wall walked past me about 2 feet away!! But to cap it all about 4 ladies who looked like cleaners sitting at a table side by side!! So much for the 2 metres distance!! Back up next Tuesday to see the specialist for the result.

I took the bull by the horns and went out yesterday with my wife for a walk beside the golf course being very careful not to get close to the few people there. I managed a couple on hundred yards and was knackered!! It's amazing how little energy you have after being confined to barracks for 13 weeks!!! :o

Congrats on making the effort and staying safe.  Just build it up a bit at a time.
