Highland Innovations Wireless Headphones
« on: June 08, 2012, 09:09:39 PM »
Hi all. I recently purchased a set of Highland Innovations single channel wireless headphones on ebay.  The previous owner had bought them new from the manufacturer in Nov 2011 for £66. They work well, however on my detector there is a constant background hum, like a threshold tone. According to the instructions "a faint hissing sound may be heard from the headphones" and "depending on the detector a sound may be heard through the headphones". I've tried them on my 20 year old Whites Coinmaster Classic, and my slightly less vintage Classic lllSL, but both have the same constant tone. After 2 decades of silent searching I'm unable to cope with this constant background noise so the headphones have to go! If anybody else fancies trying them then you can have them for £35, postage included. £30 if you can collect from Oban area. You can always put them on ebay and make a profit!
Please contact me with any queries. Cheers Ewan

These headphones have three different frequencies which they can operate on. (The toggle can be move and headphones retuned in seconds) I'm sure you haven't tuned them in properly to one of the frequencies available to you.

This is the more basic model with only 2 frequencies, and I've tried everything I can think of. They work fine with my stereo and ipod so know they are not faulty. It just seems to be an incompatibility with my machines? Ewan

Its your experience with the headphones that matters Ewan. I'm sorry to learn these headphones are not compatible with the metal detectors you use.
