Found this up at a bronze age site near Killin,it has got a more recent village built around it/on it.
So what u think?
IMO I think it's a hammer as it weighs so much and the shape..

Any consolation Jason - I've been out 4 hours and all i found was a musket ball and tombac button.......it happens...lol

It is a consolation tbh
But Christ wish I could find something of significance,all these days out I'm having detecting the mrs will think I'm at it!
Specially coming back with nowt lol

Don't worry Jason, you'll make the finds, just keep at it :) 98% of finds are junk but its that 2% that makes all the difference, some days are good, some not so good...its the anticipation of what could be the next signal that keeps us all at it

That is some lump of iron you found Jason, bronze age saw a shift from stone and bone/antler hammers through to metals. good luck. HH
