....the medal is a fantastic find, real history there!! It should be inscribed around the edge with the soldiers name, rank and regiment, would be nice to know who it was presented to?

Hi Adge, that was a good selection of finds on Sunday. The medal is a belter :o. Does the whistle still work?

Thanks guys.
Alas the edge of the medal has been badly damaged and the inscription destroyed. The only thing I can make out is a small capital T followed by a full stop. You can just see this in the last picture towards the bottom of the rim.

Yes amazingly the little whistle still works!

Also the images I put up seem rather large (and not the best quality but I can work on that) if  anybody can help explain how
to size them better I would be grateful. I uploaded to photobucket and copied the IMG code.
