...that is probably a saddlers badge from the horses / ponys they used to pull carts, etc. I found something similar a few years ago - great find!!

Nice find Robin. Just about all of the saddlers badges Ive found have been in poor condition .

Yes ive got the exact same one ( my first ) found on a dig in Houston , I was just saying to Hoofharted that i had never found a saddlers badge and Bang next signal one popped up  :) identical to yours Robin :)

Thats a nice one as well Stan, well found, my 2nd one is not as good as the one shown. it is a shame that hardly anything remains now, a few locomotives would be nice.

Now Ive got 5 secs to my self, thanks for the correction guys,  saddlers badge would have been a good idea to put down. Highlight of the day was a massage, still smell of Almond oil and Lemon but frankly I could have done with an hour of silence, lol. Cheers for comments now off to Beavers.

Its a funny old world of detecting, lots of people would like to find something unique, however in this case its heart warming to find that this Scottish railway has influenced our detector finds by forum members over a wide area of Scotland
