Try the New Beta PastMap http://beta.pastmap.org.uk it now lets you zoom in then change the overlay of the map, zoom into your farm or a general area then choose 1st edition down the left hand side.

Hi Mono, have you seen the National Library of Scotland’s site?  http://maps.nls.uk Have a look at the old Ordnance survey maps, try selecting the six inch maps 1843-1882 as a seamless overlay. Or they have maps going back to the 1500’s. The site’s a bit of a maze but well worth a look. Good luck...

I’ll need to check out pastmap myself now that the beta version’s up and running.

Just changed the site address, noticed it wasn’t working... ::)
