Well I managed to secure a stubble field at my caravan site which is soon to become more caravan pitches and well popped out my first hammy in a while and my first for 2018 just looking for help to id it.

well done on your hammy ,nice find , sorry but I'm not very good on IDs , some sort of short cross , I'm sure someone will come on soon and Id it for you . well done again

Great find Doodles and well saved. That could’ve ended up being burried for who knows how long. You’re off to a good start for 2018. I’ll have a go at ID’n it, I’m needing the practice ;D. I see it’s a voided short cross and it’s got the curly hair and crown, is that an Eddie I wonder... just opened up the Spink book, I’ll have a look. Well dug an cheers for posting...

I’m going for a Henry II short cross coinage Spink 1343. It’s old if it is, year 1180. That’s all I’ve got. Have to wait for an expert to have a butchers. Cracking coin whatever it turns out to be.

Thanks Sam it could well be a Henry from what I can make out it definitely has resemblance but I don't know enough on hammered still it will take pride of place in my collection lol
