The Joy of Text ... and the Equinox
« on: January 09, 2018, 12:06:55 AM »
Why did Minelab name their new machine EQUINOX? What has the name to do with a metal detector? Equinox comes from the Latin words aequi, which means 'equal', and nox, which means 'night'. Go figure!

Words are weapons.

The business world (driven by litigation, smart alec advertisers who mostly produce stuff so obscure it misses the point of the product, and over enthusiastic irrelevant, unrealistic 'safety' messages) is fixated on producing the cleverest most 'scientific' sounding ads to drown out the competition.

They could take a lesson from the idiotic but well known 'Cillit Bang' advert where the psuedo science mumbo jumbo garbage is at least pounded into our long suffering ears by a loud shouting manic clown, which advert has the single benefit of allowing us to not have to read any of their claptrap.

In other words John, you got it right, and the reason why there is no feedback is because you cannot improve on perfection!  (My opinion).

All the best - Bob.
