Richt....
I have a moving wheel RA badge.
The 'scroll' at the bottom has bent backwards (not a 'sharp' bend, more a curl.)
The badge itself is obviously a bit discoloured, but almost not badly corroded.

Anyone have any idea if it's possible top have this sorted?
Or even polished? or sealed? Or something?

I'd love to have it mounted and give it to the person who's land I found it on.

Cheers!

If you heat it red hot and glowing you should be able to straighten it, then gently brush with wire brush to take all corrosion off then seal with Renaissance wax.

I'll try to find the picture I have of my royal engineers badges both treated as above and untreated and add them to this thread

For Renaissance wax, (if you can't get it locally) try http://www.cooksongold.com/category_select.jsp?query=Renaissance+Wax+200ml&queryFromSuggest=true

There's no need to be 'brave' try it what's the worst that can happen? It breaks? It's broken anyway!
I've got one with the fixed wheel that's almost tied in a knot lol I'm going to get a blowtorch and try to do that one. I found it detecting on rosneath a few years ago with robin.

These are very common military badges and can be bought quite cheaply :-) hope that helps increase your courage  ;)
