Title: Not old, but fun !
Post by: fafa on February 25, 2016, 09:01:38 AM
It's raining this week,
So, like I can't detect, I sharing with you our "old" finds (always from france  ;)).

This, it's my boyfriend and his sister who have found them. :D

It's not very old, because it was used in the 19th century (Napoleon 3) but i like it.

It's a propelling pencil (thanks crepitis !  ;) ), in silver, with a calendar and a little green stone.
They' ve found them into pieces, but it was full! And ther wher stilll "lead pencil" !! O0

Lovely pencil. It made me chuckle thinking about the old series of "All creatures great & small" when the yorkshire farmer explained to the vet about his non-performing bull - "eee vetinary, ees got no leed in his pencil"
Don't worry fafa, it's British humour, and I'm not about to explain it to you!

                                                                                                                                                                 John

The calendar is not complicated (but maybe my explanation in english  ::) ).
there are 2 "rings" with 7 sides. One ring (close to the stone) is the days of week designed by letters, and the other is composed of the days of the month designed by numbers.

I hope you understand  :P
