Hi guys now to be fair I never found these two items but they both were found and given to me. The mini cross I was told came from the desert during ww2, my next door neighbours husband's brother (yes it's one of those stories lol) was the soldier who found it. Her husband died and we helped her a lot and she gave me it.  I was a kid, I took it into cadets but the major could not identify it.

The second thing I am trying to ID was found believe it or not at the local dump,w hen we go up we have a rake about lol, my friend found it and gave it to me. it's hall marked and has a lovely green shamrock. I thought it was an old nurses pin, which is still kinda tied to the military.

I hope it's okay to post here.

Cheers
Scott

Be better if you put the items on a darker background as they are hard to see  :)

The wee medal looks like a Russian Army Order of St George, with a piece missing from the middle. I've seen some online with a gold fitting similar to yours, but my work computer wont let me access them!
Cheers Ewan

DGC in a shield is for Daniel George Collins. The marks represents sterling silver marked in Birmingham with the year letter for 1931 (I think).

I would guess the one with the green on it is some sort of medal going by the bar above it  :)

Cool thanks Ewan, I had suspected it may of had something in the middle. Very similar cross good find. The soldier was fighting the Italians so I was told, they lady thought it may of belonged to an Italian soldier as gruesome as it sounds but she couldn't say for sure.

I've got other shields with that DC mark on them. So it's a Birmingham stamp then. Any ideas what the brooch would be?

I found this but it's stamped by another maker I think

Very interesting Grant. What can you tell me about the colour configurations? I assume they all have certain meanings?
