A very well done to Tracey (greendaves better half)  ;Don her third detecting outing she gets her first hammered silver!

How many times you been out with us Dave?  ;D

Seriously though great stuff Tracey, ID open to the floor I reckon R1

She winkles it out just around lunchtime in the bottom (stubble field)

That’s tremendous.

Looks like a John Short Cross. (1199-1216) Spink 1351, Class 5b2, SCBI Mass 1593, +hVNFReI'ON'RO, Moneyer Hunfrei at Rochester Mint

Class 7A
Arnold of Canterbury.

Cracking wee coin and a very nice find.

I'm going for ARNAVAD ON CA (Canterbury)
So that would make it King John
Class 5 and most likely 5b - pelleted curls and cross patte mint mark on reverse

Spink 1351

That sure is a nice coin to find.  I don't think I have ever found a short cross hammered silver coin.
